Last week I kneaded Palestinian bread for fifteen people in the stainless steel thaal my mother has always used to knead our bread. This photo (like so many others) has been sitting with me ever since.

A short one today — sharing a few favorite reads and resources from my favorite corners of the internet.
“joy is a mycelium of truth, compassion and connection.”
an analysis of Monsters, Inc. hint: it’s not really about Monsters, Inc. (via Toi Smith, who is enrolling Project Bloom right now.)
spending my time these days exploring the similarities between birth work, sex work, abortion work, death work.
relatedly — midwives are activists, midwifery is activism. (and if you’re a midwife, Robina’s mentorship collective is still open for applications.)
“[love] is as close to social activism and civil disobedience as it is to poetry, art, and (im)mortality.” (via, and I highly recommend Neema Githere Siphone’s newsletter as well.)
Indigenous solutions to colonial problems (via Warsan Shire).
twenty-five steps you can take, beyond protesting.
and of course, I couldn’t help but close this with some Audre Lorde (via Cole Arthur Riley, whose book Black Liturgies is available for preorder).
